Biography

Our Trustees

Louise Doran

Chair of Trustees

I am a people person first but also I love dogs and I love the beautiful relationships between people and dogs. I am delighted to support Dog A.I.D. as Chair of Trustees.

I have spent the majority of my life working for charities; firstly for 20+ years with Assistance Dog organisations in a variety of roles and then latterly in the world of animal welfare. I am currently a senior manger for a large animal welfare charity; this involves supporting a large team with a diverse range of services which are aimed at preventing problems from becoming a crisis.  I am good to have on side when things get tough as I thrive on leadership, problem solving and creating solutions! I also have areas of specialism in canine behaviour and training, education, internal investigations and wellbeing. I am also a passionate volunteer having run a dog sports team which won the British Championship, set up and ran a dog rescue and was also a school governor for many years. I love to give something back to the community and make a difference and will put my heart and soul into Dog A.I.D.

In my personal life, I have a new husband. We married in October 2023 - so he isn't quite long suffering as yet, we can give it a few more years! I have a grown up son and two lovely dogs; Havoc age 10 and Anarchy age 9. I love all the usual delightful introvert activities which charge my batteries like yoga, walking - the wilder the location the better, cooking, gardening, reading and making art but also love seeing live music as often as I can and have very varied tastes and going out-out to dance the night away to 90s dance music.
